Bimbisara (544 BC – 492 BC)

• He was the founder of Haryanka Dynasty. his father's name Bhattiya.
• According to Budhdhist chronicles he ruled for 52 years.
• He built a new city Rajgriha(Girivraj) which was his capital.Rajgriha was surrounded by five hills.
• He was contemporary to the Gautam Buddha and Mahavira.
• Bimbisara is known as Seniya.he is the first king to have a standing army.
• Bimbisara had three wives:-

1.Mahakosala (Sister of kosal king Prasenjit).Kashi was gifted as a dowry to Bimbisara.

2.Chellana (sister of Lichchavi king Chetaka)

3.Khema (Daughter of Madra king)

• Bimbisara sent a royal physician Jivaka to Chandapradyota (king of Avanti) at Ujjain to cure him Jaundice.
• He was killed by his son Ajatshatru.

Ajatashatru (492 BC – 460 BC)

• He was known as Kunika.he was the son of Chellana.his rign remarkable for hi military conquests.
• His diplomatic minister was Sunidha and vatsakar.
• A war engine ( Mahashilakanthaka) and a chariot(Rathamusula) helped him to defect Lchachvis.
• He defeated his maternal uncle Prasenjit (kingof Kosala). He married to Vajjira.(daughter of prasnjit).
• Ajatashatru Arranged first Buddhist council.Gautam Buddha died his Reign.
• He was killed by his son Udayin.

Udayin (460 BC – 444BC)

• He founded the new capital at Pataliputra (situated at confluence the son and the Ganga River).
• Udayin was succeeded by Anuruddha, Munda and Nagdasak.
• The last Haryanka Ruler was Nagdasak. He was killed by Shisunaga.
